Mount Ida Farm is a wedding venue with a ton of variety and options for both local and traveling couples. The venue consists of 4 main locations. Each venue location has a bridal and groom’s suite, amazing views, and a stunning ceremony site. The first is The Event Barn. This venue is classic, romantic, and mixed with a cozy vibe from the stone fireplace. Perfect for a winter wedding! An incredible waterside gazebo is found just down the lane, perfect for a ceremony spot!
Second, The Lodge is very similar to the Event Barn, but with a rustic-meets-glam style. Large, crystal chandeliers hang from the beams of this spacious barn giving it both elegance and an incredible ambiance for dancing.
Thirdly is the Tasting Room & Taphouse. A Mount Ida classic, this venue has stunning views showing off wine country not only outside on the stone deck but with the large windows facing the mountains. This venue is perfect for a smaller wedding party.
Lastly is Water’s Edge. This venue is a statement against the rest with the barn being a bright red and a waterside ceremony site and lake views.
As a multi-venue farm, Mount Ida hosts about 80 weddings a year! Their venues average room for 200 guests with plenty of parking, so invite all of your family and friends!
I spoke with one of the lovely staff at Mount Ida Farm, and she gave me all the details on their wedding packages! A standard wedding package at Mount Ida Farm provides couples with the venue and ceremony site for a 6-hour period. Each of the venues is 10,000 to 12,000 sq. ft. (depending on which you chose).
Each venue location includes a state-of-the-art caterers kitchen. In addition, high speed internet, backup generators, lounge and event furniture, heat and air conditioning, ample power, bathrooms and a shuttle bus for on-site uses.
Guys, when I tell you this venue is stunning, I mean it! As a fine art wedding photographer, I always scope out venues for their best photo locations. Some of the most popular spots at the Lodge are the one lane bridge which has a fairy-tale feel. The Mountain Grove ceremony site is the perfect spot to get those sweeping mountain views in the back ground.
In addition, the Tasting Room & Tap House also offer breathtaking mountain views. I personally love the patio they had with the water features-so stylish!
The Event Barn’s Gazebo ceremony site has a very romantic and unique feel. The Estate there also makes a cute backdrop. Of course, you can’t forget the clydesdales (when you can catch them along the fence)!
At their Water’s Edge venue, you’ll get lakeside beach photos. Did I mention they have a floating ceremony site?!
Couples have the option to hire whatever vendors for their wedding that they choose. All catering is done by outside caterers although many couples have their rehearsal dinners on-site at the Tasting Room & Tap House and in that instance Mount Ida will provide the food from the Tap House.
There is ample room for live music at all of our venues and both the Barn and Lodge even have a stage for them to play. I love this feature as you don’t have to worry about the DJ taking up any dance floor space!
Mount Ida has amazing wine, so of course there is space for a bar at their venues. Your guests will love the views, and space here at Mount Ida!
Have I convinced you to book Mount Ida for your wedding? Perfect! Make sure you contact them to schedule a tour to see which venue location you love! While you’re at it, send me a message to make sure I am there to capture your Mount Ida Farm Wedding!
Before you go check out these other Virginia venues I think you will love.
