A Bluestone Wedding is perfect for couples that love wine and views. Located just 15 minutes outside of Harrisonburg, this venue is perfectly located near many hotels and restaurants. For this reason, it is great for any out-of-town guests. Bluestone is no stranger to amazing views, so keep reading to learn about my best photo tips as a Harrisonburg Wedding Photographer!
A Bluestone Wedding offers multiple places for you to host your wedding- and all of them help make for beautiful photos! Not to mention, the biggest space at Bluestone can hold 288 guests. In fact, it is actually one of the largest all-purpose venues in the Shenandoah Valley! So don’t hesitate to invite all of your friends and family!
Firstly, the Meeting House at Bluestone will take your breath away! Its large windows and view of the Allegheny Mountains will give your reception a feeling of elegance. During the day the space glows with natural sunlight (a photographer’s dream). However, during the evening the hanging chandeliers take the spotlight and have the ability to be dimmed. The cathedral ceilings and floors are enhanced with intricately placed sound absorption features. In addition, the hardwood flooring is durable yet elegant. As a result, there is no need to rent a portable dance floor!
Secondly, the Manor is an excellent option for those looking to host a smaller, more intimate wedding at the vineyard. This venue space seats 40 guests inside and can be increased to seat 80 guests when combined with the patio! Of course, you’ll still have gorgeous views of the Allegheny Mountains at this venue. In the evening your guests can enjoy the fire pit. In addition, the patio also has heat lamps- keeping your guests comfortable when the sun goes down!
If you need more space you can additionally rent the pool area! This area is perfect for hosting a cocktail hour. Another super cool feature is the fact that you may use your own weighted decorations in the pool and rent the pool fountain. This will elevate your guest’s experience and give your photos an interesting backdrop!
Bluestone Vineyard includes so many amenities I seriously cannot list them all! Here are some of my favorite amenities included with the Meeting Room Rental!
As I stated above, if you are having an intimate ceremony, the Manor is perfect for you! Here is a list of the included amenities for the Manor!
Firstly, the Vineyard features a large flat area within the vines that is the perfect location for wedding ceremonies. It is only a short walk away from the Meeting Room, so this is a great option if you have a lot of older guests or grandparents attending.
Secondly, the Ridge is the highest point of the vineyard. It offers stunning views of the valley and mountains. Imagine how amazing your ceremony photos will look being so close to the vines, overlooking the mountains!
It is no surprise that your wedding images will be absolutely incredible at Bluestone! The vineyard views and Allegheny Mountains views are almost a 360, giving you unlimited options for first looks or sunset photos. Sunset is specifically a very popular time for photos at Bluestone weddings because the view is unobstructed due to the elevation.
Have I sold you on a Bluestone Wedding? Great! Reach out to them by sending the lovely Event Coordinator Deanne an email here. Bluestone does not put a cap on the number of weddings they take each year, however I urge you to reach out to them as soon as possible to book your date! Make sure to also send me a little note so we can make sure I am there to capture your big day at Bluestone!
