A Valley Road Vineyards Wedding provides the ultimate combination of beauty, atmosphere, and wine. Nestled into the heard of Afton, VA this wedding venue will capture your heart. When looking for a wedding venue, you will be hard-pressed to find a better pairing of views and wine. The combination this venue provides is simply magical!
Formerly, Valley Roads Vineyards was part of the Critzer Family Farm. Over time however, the farm subdivided into smaller parcels. Most recently the property was A.M. Fog – a farmer’s market and grower/purveyor of exotic mushrooms to restaurants. Starting in 2015, Valley Road Vineyards was conceived by a group of friends looking to support the growing Virginia wine industry. In 2016 they planted their first vines! Shortly after, the barn was converted into the wedding venue that it is today. This history has a has an air of magic that seems to catch you around every corner.
Firstly, this venue will offer your guests truly stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Surrounded on all sides by mountain views, there is not a spot on property where nature won’t surround you. I’m positive that your wedding guests won’t be able to stop making remarks about the views and the beauty of the property itself. This venue definitely makes a statement and it is sure to be brought up by your guests countless times in the years to come after your wedding!
On top of the natural beauty, however, it is also evident that the staff is dedicated to making every aspect of the property shine. Each building on the property is being expertly maintained, and the amount of care that is put into the upkeep is palpable. They have left no stone unturned. And if they put this much attention into maintaining their property, just imagine how focused they will be on your wedding day!
Valley Road Vineyards wedding offers brides- and grooms-to-be an array of outdoor locations or a spot in their exquisite Barn to host your dream wedding day. The Barn is their most popular spot – and for good reason, too! This space is all-inclusive and you can use it for ceremonies, receptions and/or cocktail hours. The Barn opens on three sides, allowing your guests to have a peek at those mountain views (practically) anywhere they could turn. Additionally, a deck runs around the perimeter of the building, making it the perfect spot to escape and gaze at the stars! But if you want an uncovered ceremony, this venue has two beautiful options you can choose from as well. The Lawn provides views of the Blue Ridge, while the Terrace overlooks their Afton South vineyard.
Valley Road Vineyards Wedding has made such a great, flexible space for your wedding! Each location that they offer is multi-purposeful. In other words, you have the ability to orchestrate your day exactly how you want. Want your ceremony outside but cocktail hour and reception inside? Done! Do you want to escape the sun beating down on you altogether and host everything in the Barn? You can do that too!
There are a few perfect spots on property that are perfect for sunset photos as well. Their vineyards, for example, make for great, intimate shots of you and your new spouse. They also transport couples and their photographers to the top of their vineyard to get some pictures overlooking the Rockfish Valley at Golden Hour! This is a huge life saver. Most specifically, for brides with long trains and veils! While you are taking your newly wed photos, your guests can enjoy cocktail hour! In addition, it’s a common favorite of guests to take some selfies on the Barn Deck too.
I love that they have taken even these details into consideration, and it’s not just because I’m a photographer (though that’s a big part of it)! Couples will truly feel like Valley Roads Vineyards has brought their full vision to life.
When you book a wedding at Valley Road Vineyards, you and your wedding party will be able to get there and start getting ready as early as 10am. There are two spots on property that you could choose to get ready in: the Loft and the Lodge. Both offer soft seating, bathrooms, and a refrigerator. The Loft offers styling stations with mirrors and a large window overlooking the landscape. This makes for stunning getting ready photos! The Lodge provides a deck that opens straight into the Lawn space. (It can also be used as a secluded spots for kids!)
Your ceremony will be able to start at 6pm from April-Labor Day, with guests being able to arrive a half hour early. If you’re getting married in the fall or winter months, your ceremony time will depend on when the sun is going to set. Did I mention that Valley Roads Vineyards can fit between 50 and 130 guests! Perfect for a small to medium sized wedding!
