Frieden Farms is located on a lovely yet quite piece of property in Mount Crawford, VA. I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Becky Hummel about some of the best features their venue offers!

 

1. Frieden Farms has so many amenities couples will love!

The first thing I would like to note, is that Frieden Farms host about 52 weddings a year! As a result, that means they take on only one wedding per weekend. This is amazing for couples who want to have time to decorate and clean up after their wedding. You will never have to be in a rush at this venue! In addition to their flexibility, Sunday weddings also start at a discounted rate

This venue is fantastic for larger crowds! If you have a large family or friends list you will easily be able to accommodate them. The barn can host up to 299 people! Of course, Frieden Farms has many other amenities besides how many people they can host. In particular, here are some of the features that will be included in your wedding package!

  • Full use of our large climate controlled Frieden Hall and partially covered outdoor patio
  • 28- 60″ round tables, 5- 72″ round tables, and numerous rectangle tables
  • White resin chairs (300 outside chairs and 300 inside chairs)
  • Large caterer’s kitchen with plenty of countertop space, an ice machine, double refrigerator, warming tower, freezer
  • Beautiful and spacious bridal suite with hairdresser chair
  • Comfortable and roomy groom’s den with flatscreen cable TV and antique pinball machine
  • Outdoor location for the ceremony with arbor
  • Wifi
  • Fire Pits
  • Parking attendants with golf cart shuttle if needed
  • Access on the first day (Friday) for set-up, decorating, rehearsal & rehearsal dinner.
  • Second day (Saturday) day of event, music must end by 10:00 pm and all guests leaving by 11:00 pm.

As has been noted, the views at this venue are stunning. Behind the barn there is an amazing patio that over looks gentle sloping hills. Farmland surrounds you on either side. This is such a great feature for those wanting a secluded destination feel. Above all, the best part is that it only a 5 minute drive from downtown. There you will find many hotels and lodges that your incoming guests can stay at!

 

3. Frieden Farms is rich in history!

If family traditions is something you value, this venue is your exact fit! Frieden Farms is an operational working family farm. The farm is on 500 pristine acres in the heart of Rockingham County. Another thing to note is that the name is actually German! Translated, Frieden means ‘peace’. When you get married at Frieden Farms, you are quite literally getting married at the “peace” Farm!

The name is perfectly appropriate for the tranquil panoramic views of history-filled Cross Keys and Mount Crawford, Virginia area. The owners keep the property well-maintained and updated to fit the needs and requests of any couple that comes their way.

 

4. This venue has indeed thought of all of the details.

Frieden Farms has insured that there is plenty of onsite parking. As a result, couples won’t have to worry about expensive shuttle services. Off-site catering is happily welcomed, and as I have noted, there is a spacious caterers kitchen that your vendor will love! 

If you are a lover a music, good news! There is space for live music inside or outside! In brief, that back patio is seriously such a great feature! Alcohol is also welcome. As a result, Frieden Farms has not one, but two bars on site, ready for use!
