Fox Meadow Barn is a gorgeous mountain venue! In addition, they also have a wonderful sister venue, the Cloverdale Barn. Both of these are ran by the amazing Boyd family. As a result, couples are sure to have a lovely experience at either location!
I had the privilege of chatting with a member of the Fox Meadow team, Dixie Boyd-Scheulen, and asked some questions to learn more about this great venue.
Fox Meadow Barn describes themselves as a pretty “hands-off” venue. Because of this, couples have full freedom to bring in their own favorite vendors for catering, floral, bartending, live music, and more to truly personalize the day. Included in booking with Fox Meadow are:
“Our family is undeniably blessed to reside on our family farm where we assist my Dad who solely operates 300 beef cattle, 80 ewes, and hay production on a 1000-acre farm that has been in our family since 1947. In 2008 we were able to convert a bank barn for weddings and Mom has leased it for events starting in 2011. After that in 2017 we began the process of creating another event venue, in 2019 we received occupancy permits.
I finished a 10.5-year tenure as an RN with Winchester Medical Center in July 2021. In the Spring of 2019, I began a part time RN home infusion position and I still maintain this position. My husband, Travis, is a journeyman lineman for Rappahannock Electric Cooperative. On the weekends Travis helps by tolerating the intricacies of all things HVAC. In addition he does yard work, maintenance, snow removal, and after a septic issue has retired this role. We have 3 children. Ellie(9), Liza(7) and Boyd(3) who help with the farm and business through cleanups, chair stacking, and more. They’ve mostly been patient through the emails, their Mom learning all things business and becoming accustomed to 9pm dinners… My father, Bob Boyd, is the full-time farmer. Mom, Claire Boyd, is a full-time middle school teacher and concurrently runs another event venue, Cloverdale Barn.”
Between a constantly changing world and the natural unpredictability of the wedding industry, “normal” years, as Dixie stated, aren’t so normal after all. But the Fox Meadow team promises that if a date is available, it’s always up for grabs! The team always recommends email as the best way to communicate. There, they’ll be able to help you work out the details like available dates, prices, services, and more.
If you felt some tugging at your heart reading this feature, then you need to reach out to the Fox Meadow Barn team asap! To set up a tour with them and to learn more abut the venue, reach out to them via email and check out their website here. Of course, also reach out to me to make sure that I am there to capture all the best moments of your day.
