When you first arrive at a Delfosse Winery Wedding you will notice how serene the venue and landscape is. The venue itself sits in a distinct, mountain valley “bowl”. An incredible benefit that this landscaping gives couples, is that the frequent rain found in Charlottesville almost always passes over the venue due to the location! In addition to the great views, there is running water trickles around the property. Such an elegant sound to add to a cocktail hour, would’t you agree? The cabin and ceremony site are located on the top of the ridge. There you can look out across to the other mountains and down with the venue as a stunning backdrop as you say “I do”.
Having a small wedding? A larger wedding? No matter the size of your party, a Delfosse Winery Wedding might just be perfect for you! The indoor venue at Delfosse can host up to 300 guests for a seated dinner, and up to 350 for a cocktail style event! With the unique landmarking that I have already mentioned, your guests will love being able to mingle both inside and out at this venue!
Delfosse has been up and running since 2002. This means that they have experience and are pros at helping couples wedding day have the perfect flow! They are an all estate grown property. This means that all the wines you and your guests will enjoy are grown right on the property! Delfosse has 320 acres in total, 17 of those being under vine. They grow 11 different varietals on-site!In addition to the amazing wines, the beautiful ceremony site on the hill. Couples love this spot due to its gorgeous mountain and vine views.
After you say “I do” you can host your cocktail hour by their pond. The pond, coupled with beautiful greenery, it’s a great space to allow your guests to spread out. The newly renovated reception space is perfect to host your reception in. It has the perfect rustic feel, with beautiful draping, and exposed beams. Yet, the space has a very nice airy feeling with so much natural light from the windows lining the roof.
The owners of the property are Mike and Adrienne Albers. Delfosse is their exciting retirement job after working in high tech for many years. I had the please of speaking with Mike, and he told me that they consider themselves farmers first, and wine makers second. “If you make great grapes, you make great wine!” Of course, the care that they give their grapes is why they are best know for their dry and flavorful wines! Mike and Adrienne love what they do, and you can see the passion in how they treat the property, guests, and the way that they make everyone feel like close friends.
When you book Delfosse for your wedding get access to the beautiful property, along with day of use of their cabin, that was built in 1870! Talk about a rustic and charming way to start your day off. Of course, you will also receive: ceremony chairs round tables, reception chairs, and long tables to use.
The owners and workers at Delfosse want your day to be uniquely yours and will allow you to choose how you want everything to be set up and decorated. They also have a list of many vendors to choose from for catering. The venue also has adequate space for a live band or DJ!
Obviously, your guests will love Delfosse as much as you will! They typically will have the bar set up outside for easy access during cocktail hour, and will later move it into the venue as you continue the party! There is adequate parking on site for up to 120 cars. This is a great option if you have some older guests or family who would prefer not to wait for a bus!
As I have mentioned, the hills at a Delfosse winery wedding are unlike any other and is one of their most popular photo locations! Of course, the vineyards are also a favorite. You can’t get married at a vineyard without spectacular sunset photos among the vibes, right?
