In addition to the stunning views and rich history, the Highland has a smaller and larger ceremony site. Additionally they also have a covered reception space and a courtyard perfect for cocktail hour. Occasionally the venue hosts larger events, but special accommodations must be made to incorporate additional guests in the space.

  • Of course the stunning location, which has beautiful views of the Southwest mountains and pastures

Highland does not have on-site catering but they have a great list of caters you can choose from! Additionally, guests have access to the main parking lot and an additional overflow parking lot. Highland can accommodate about 150 vehicles in these areas, including larger vehicles such as motor coaches.

Highland was the home of fifth president James Monroe, his family, and the enslaved men and women that lived and worked on the property. The property changed hands several times after Monroe sold the property, and it has remained a working farm and historic site ever since.

For this reason, hosting your wedding at Highland is an act of philanthropy. A portion of the proceeds from private events is used to further research, expand educational programming, and fund historic preservation of the house and grounds. Therefore, by hosting your wedding at Highland you are helping this site continue to teach the importance of the history behind the space.
