A Jefferson Hotel Wedding is perfect for the couples looking for a luxurious, and royal feeling venue. Located conveniently in downtown Richmond Virginia, the Jefferson Hotel has been hosting weddings since 1895! Couples will not only love the beauty of the venue, but they will also enjoy the attention to detail within the building. The ornate details, grand stairs and vintage furnishings truly make this place unique. A Jefferson Hotel wedding is perfect for couples who are looking for a royal venue for their special day.
A fire in 1901 lead to a completely rebuilding of the hotel and addition of the Grand Ballroom. The ballroom still has all of the original woodwork, chandeliers, and wall stones. The Empire Ballroom was originally the hotel’s main dining room until the 1980’s. French doors open onto the Mezzanine overlooking the Rotunda lobby. It also connects to the Flemish Room, originally was a designated gentlemen’s smoking room. Although the times have changed and the uses of the rooms tweaked, the hotel still radiates with its historical glory. As of today, the hotel is owned and operated by members of the Historic Hotels of America and Preferred Hotels and Resorts.
So, what do you get when you book a wedding with The Jefferson? Couples who book their wedding receptions in the Grand or Empire Ballroom receive a complimentary overnight stay in a Grand Premier guest room You will also receive an opportunity to have wedding portraits taken within the hotel prior to your big day. The event spaces include elegant china, glass, silverware, tables, chivari chairs with cushions and floor length curtains that are available in 36 different colors!
The Flemish Room is best suited for intimate ceremonies and receptions. Couples will love the sparkling chandeliers and soaring ceilings in the Grand Ballroom. It provides an enchanting setting for your reception! A grand piano is available for use, along with a table for your guest book and a holding place for any gifts you may receive during your reception. Blooms florals at The Jefferson can be seen throughout the hotel and will work with you personally to capture your wedding vision and present them to you on your wedding day. You can also book an appointment at Salon Vivace for you and your wedding party.
“We generally will book one wedding per day of the weekend so that we can give each couple the team’s full focus.”
The Grand Ballroom accommodates up to 400 people for a stand-up reception and 350 for dinner with dancing. The Empire Ballroom accommodates for up 250 for a stand-up reception and 200 for dinner and a dance floor. Additionally, couples are able to secure discounted room rates for their wedding guests. Plenty of valet parking and self-parking is available on-site as well. There is no off-site catering allowed. No need to worry, the venue offers a wide range of wedding menus for your to choose from. Not only is there space for a bar, but there can be space for 2 or 3 if you’d like! Looking to have live music at your wedding? The Grand Ballroom provides a full-sized stage for live music and the Empire Ballroom can accommodate smaller bands.
Just imagine the stunning photos you will receive after your Jefferson Hotel Wedding- they will s be swoon worthy! One of my personal favorite locations is the Grand Staircase, which is the hotel’s show stopper. The top of the staircase is a great location for wedding entrances and exits, along with opportunities for gorgeous photos. Alternatively, the hotel has a lot of unique backdrops throughout the interior and exterior for photographs. The Jefferson Suite is a popular choice for pre-wedding and first look photos. Plus, did I mention that the suite holds a marbled balcony overlooking historic Franklin Street? The fountain in the Circle Drive is an ideal photo spot for couples and their wedding parties. With downtown Richmond being just outside the doors, you’ll have the opportunity to also get those urban style photos as well. Lastly, you can’t forget-another option for couples who want an exotic photo experience, is capturing a picture with the hotel’s alligator!
“From their rehearsal dinner to their ceremony to a farewell brunch, we are able to host all their wedding events and offer the services of our on-site salon, florist and wedding planners should they choose to use those.”
Furthermore, couples are always encouraged to contact The Jefferson Hotel and can request more information or schedule a tour, you can reach out to them here. Go ahead and contact me while you’re at it as I would love to be apart of your big day and capture all of your special moments so that they can last a life time!
