Jordan Springs Estate is a classic and historic venue located just minutes outside of Winchester, Virginia. If you have ever taken a trip through Winchester, you know that the views are amazing, and this town is full of history. The venues are no exception! This venue in particular is truly the perfect place to say “I do” for couples who are looking for a place with a little tradition, but a lot of unique qualities. Keep reading to learn all about how magical weddings held here are!
The management team here at Jordan Springs are truly pros at hosting events. They typically host 140 events each year! Meaning, they will have your wedding day down pat. In addition, this venue can hold over 150 guests inside, and outdoor tented weddings can hold nearly 400 guests! This is optimal for couples with large friend groups or families that can’t narrow down their guest count (you know who you are!)
The history of this venue spans nearly 5 centuries. The first documented discovery of the springs (which still feed the Estate today) was in 1549 with the Catawba Indians. Following the Native American belief in the healing powers of the waters, the property was included in the Littler Grant in 1735, and later purchased by the Jordan family in the early 1800s. Todays main house was first built in 1832 and expanded in 1893 to the nearly 30,000 square feet that is today! Having played host to everyone from President Roosevelt to numerous generals, senators, and state men. The Jordan’s originally built the property for entertaining, which is what the current owners, the Wallace family, have taken it back to today.
There is so much available to couples who choose to tie the know at Jordan Springs! When you book your wedding here, you will of course, receive access to the Estate. Along with that comes a rehearsal time, rehearsal coordination, and an on-site, day of coordinator!
Obviously, you and your sweetheart need a place to get ready at! At Jordan Springs, there is a private dressing ares for the ladies, and the guys aren’t forgotten about here! In addition, the gentlemen also receive their own dressing area.
Your ceremony will be so special here. A ceremony location with an indoor or outdoor chapel option are available. Another key point is that the venue offers ceremony chairs, and ceremony coordination as well! As a Virginia wedding photographer, I can tell you this is a huge help! Following your ceremony, you will have two options for your cocktail hour. The venue offers an indoor gallery, but my favorite is the outdoor option: a covered veranda. Can you say classy vibes?
Your reception is bound to be just as elegant. Within your reception location, you will also have access to and options for:
Jordan Springs have the details covered so you don’t have to worry about them! Amble parking is found on-site. As a result, you won’t need to hire a shuttle! Outdoor catering isn’t allowed because the venue has food and beverage. Again, one less vendor to worry about! No party is complete without a bar, which Jordan Springs offers with a wide selection of beer, wine, craft cocktails, and an impressive private Estate bourbon collection! Of course there is also room for a DJ or live band (whatever suits your tastes) and many couples choose to use their on-staff DJ who has over a decade of experience in creating amazing parties.
Sitting on over 200 acres, Jordan Estate offers so many options on the grounds and gardens! Some of these include a pond, a creek, a French garden, and an English Arbor. The gardens at Jordan Springs Estate truly give off the most high-end feel. Due to the light stone pebbles and European style statues, you’ll momentarily feel transported out of Virginia! In addition to all of the locations I have already mentioned, there is the 1832 stone wing, a rose garden, and a bridge! Seriously so many location options for gorgeous portraits and intimate first looks!
I hope you loved reading about this Estate. It is such a dream spot to have a wedding, and any couple would be lucky to say “I do” here! Although this venue takes a high number of weddings and events each year, I highly recommend reaching out to them as soon as you have your date. Of course, you will be needing a photographer, and I would love if you went ahead and sent me a message. I would love to be there for your big day!
