A Sylvanside Farm wedding is an enchanting venue for your special day. Located in Purcellville, Virginia, and only 50 miles from Washington DC, this venues location is so ideal! With several packages available, only Sylvanside offers such scalability and adequate accommodations on their farm for couples, friends, and family. Continue reading to see my top 5 reasons on why you need to have your wedding at this gorgeous venue!
This venue is different from all the others, as it includes a unique history. Settled in 1742, the historical grounds that the venue are found on belonged to a family of Quakers who hosted both Union and Confederate troops during the Civil War. By the end of the war, the family was stripped of all poultry and livestock. It wasn’t until decades later in 2018, that the unmaintained grounds were about to be bulldozed and turned into a townhome complex. Jeff Fanning and his partner, Terri, saved the land and revived it.
Furthermore, Sylvanside Farm is now one of the most highly-rated wedding venues with intertwining romance and history. The farm holds magnificent views, historic barns, and polished grounds, all with an additional 25 acres of land and a freshwater pond so that you can have the perfect wedding! Subsequently, Sylvanside’s stone barn is the real charmer of the farm (built in 1744). It is the perfect space for intimate receptions, a covered space for indoor ceremonies, or as a cocktail reception with a built-in bar.
Markedly, the farm has many spaces for your event. The Rustic Poplar Barn is one of the biggest barn venues in Virginia at over 200 feet long. The dreamy barn is able to accommodate up to 225 guests. The barn is very popular for the post and beam structure it has and for its rustic magnificence. Another neart feature of this venue is that couples have the options to choose from one of the 5 different ceremony arches:
The venue’s ‘intimate orchard’ is perfect for couples who want natural, outdoor beauty for their ceremony. On the contrary, the farm is perfect for a wedding at any time of year with indoor and outdoor options. The ‘enchanting pond overlook’ has a wooden dock and spectacular sunset views whether it’s for a flawless photos or for the ideal ceremony.
To allow you and your partner to have a day that goes smoothly, the venue does not allow off-site catering and requires you to use a caterer from their preferred list. No need to worry they have plenty of options. There is just the right amount of space in the venue for a DJ to dance all night long! A dance floor is also available in the reception areas. Additionally, you can enjoy a drink at the cocktail bar and at the bar in the reception barn.
The venue has a choice of 3 different wedding packages- which absolute flexibility for you and your sweetheart. These items and more are included in booking with Sylvanside Farm:
There are several photo spots to choose from. The pond, orchard, corn field, Woodside creek, and the Manor house are all photo location favorites. Sylvanside makes it easy to transform the venue for the day you say ‘I do’, but with the breathtaking views around you, there’s hardly a need for decoration. In addition, farm animals, including horses are a great addition for photo opportunities for couples and their guests. The natural beauty around the farm makes for undeniably, the best photo setting. Certainly, make sure you reach out to me, so that I can capture all those moments in a classic and timeless way!
