A Wolftrap Farm Wedding is perfect for couples looking for countryside views and a serene wedding day. Perfectly situated in the mountains, this Gordonsville venue is located just an hour from Richmond or Fredricksburg. Similarly, it is only 2 hours from DC, and 3 hours from Virginia Beach. This venue is great if you have incoming guests, or if your family is quite literally scattered throughout Virginia!
This venue has so much to offer couples. From reception spaces, stunning ceremony sites and great getting ready locations, a Wolftrap Farm wedding has it all.
Firstly, the Cox Mill Pavilion is the perfect place to host your reception. Originally an equipment and hay barn, it has since then been converted to host weddings in 2014. This location in particular has an amazing view over the mountains. One of my favorite photos locations at this pavilion is on the hill looking back at the pavilion! Given these points, it gained so much popularity that they duplicated it!
The Black Meadow Pavilion was open in 2018, and is only a quarter-mile away! This pavilion in particular sits atop a ridge, and over looks the Southwest Mountains!
Everyone loves having a a barn party, with Wolftrap Farm’s open-sided pavilions, your guests can easily mingle from inside to outside. In addition to your guests enjoyment, the blank walls allow for maximum customization! My bride Amber absolutely adores plants, so she made her reception into a barn-greenhouse.
Of course, your reception will look stunning. However, it will also be functional! The pavilion seats 150 under the roof, and an additional 40 on the deck. Other things that the pavilion willl include is:
Wolftrap Farm has amazing views wherever you look. The owners have even selected a few spots with the best views for you to say “I do” at! One of the most stunning locations for your ceremony is right in front of the Cox Mill House. It over looks the Southwest Mountains for a beautiful background for your photos. In addition, this ceremony location is specifically nice because you can set up your aisle facing the House. That way you can walk out of the Cox Mill House and make a grand entrance.
Of course, the Hilltop and Pond location views are equally as stunning, as you can can tell just by the names!
In addition to ceremony sites, my favorite photo locations for sunset is on the hill, looking back at the Cox Mill Pavilion. It offers for the dreamiest sunset, and you can see all of your guests while the take a peak at your sunset photos! Other good places include outside of the Cox Mill House, this location is super convenient for bridal portraits and group pictures directly following your ceremony!
The Manor House is simply divine. With fully functioning AC, and a spacious bridal suite, you and your girls will feel completely comfortable while you focus on having fun getting ready. Did I mention that the front lawn of the house also offers the cutest backdrop for some robe shots?
Wolftrap Farm offers their very own elopement package if you are looking to have an intimate ceremony! This is so important for couples who want a low-key wedding or are just not a fan of the traditional style wedding days. Wolftrap Farm’s Elopement packages include everything you need!
